The aluminum profiles in the TerrasPro patio covers are made with the 6063-T6 composition and are powder coated.
Powder coating is an electrostatic painting process in which negatively charged powder is sprayed onto a positively charged workpiece using compressed air. This causes the powder to stick to the aluminum profile. It is then melted in the furnace. The minimum thickness of 60mμ makes the coatng durable. As a result, your patio cover will last a long time and remain beautiful.
By inserting a 10 kg per width meter galvanized steel strip in the gutter of all patio covers, the gutter becomes 5 times stronger. A strong gutter prevents damage to the patio cover and your home. The gutter is also stylishly incorporated into your patio cover. Thus, the gutter also comes in two different colors so that it nicely matches the style you want.
In areas lower than 100 meters above sea level in Belgium (source KNMI), no more than 28 cm of snow has fallen on roofs in the last 50 years (35 cm on the ground).
Did you know that 28 inches of snow has a weight of 56 KG per m²? All TerrasPro-profiles have been positively calculated by an engineering firm so that the patio cover can support the weight. In addition, all TerrasPro-structures have also been field tested to more than 84 KG per m² of distributed load.
This means that the TerrasPro structures, when properly mounted, can handle 50% extra weight. Should more than 28 inches of snow ever fall on your TerrasPro structure, it is still best to remove the snow for safety reasons. As the old saying goes: better to prevent than to cure.
In construction we use self-drilling, self-tapping screws, rubber clamping systems and click systems. These methods guarantee you a strong connection and make assembly easier.
All visible screws are powder coated, making them barely visible. This extra touch makes the patio covers a stylish ensemble.
It is important to provide the patio cover with a solid foundation. This is the basis for providing a safe and strong structure. The foundation must be strong enough to support the weight of the canopy but also to withstand natural elements. Depending on the strength of your patio, there are several options for placing the foundation.
When the terrace covering is installed by TerrasPro, the uprights are placed on your terrace. It is important that your terrace is strong enough to carry 750 kg per upright. If this is not the case, we place the uprights on concrete supports in the ground. We leave the connection of the concrete pile to the sewerage system to specialists.
